Sunday June 24 2007

Wow, what a day for Dig It athletes. Trey finished his third Ironman in Idaho, Andrea raced her first half IM at the High Cliffs Triathlon, Nate and Mike raced in the amateur version of Stillwater Criterium of the Nature Valley Grand Prix and Emmerson raced at the Lake Waconia Triathlon. It was an awesome day, way to go guys.

Ironman Coeur d'Alene

This was Trey's goal race for the first half of the year and his training had been going well. Race day brought its challenges, including catching a cold the day before and a rough and choppy swim, but Trey held strong and finished his third Ironman, way to go Trey!

Trey rides strong in the early miles of the bike at IM Coeur d'Alene.

Trey completes his sprint to the line at the Ironman. Trey you're an Ironman, again!

Andrea makes her half Ironman debut at the High Cliffs Triathlon and does an awesome job. Above she works the bike and still has time for a wave for the camera.

It was a great day of bike riding on Sunday June 24 at the Stillwater Criterium, at least for those of us who weren't racing. Wow, that is a hard course. The announcers kept describing it as the hardest crit course in North America and from the likes of the main hill I would have to agree.

Nate powers up the hill during the early laps on his way to a 10th place finish.

The steepness of the hill is more apparent here as Mike works it in one of the middle laps. After just a few laps the field got strung out and after dropping his chain, Mike had a tough go to catch back up.

Nate recounts some of the fun, and pain, of the race. Congrats to Nate for finishing 10th after one of his fellow racers cut him off and sent him onto the dirt on the first lap. After loosing at least 45 seconds, Nate powered his way to a solid finish.

Weekend of June 16 and 17

Dave does a great job at the Summer Solstice Duathlon in Texas with another solid age group performance. In a show of a well balanced athlete Dave finished 2nd in his age group with the second best time for each of the two runs and the best ride of his age group. Way to go Dave!

Horribly Hilly Hundreds

Aaron and Coach Jason ride and finish the Horribly Hilly Hundreds 200K and some ride. Original course is 200 kilometers but due to road construction, the route was altered and with this change the final distance was right at 130 miles, or 208K. And if the name didn't give it away, there were a few hills along with way as well. Aarron did a great ride finisshing strong and helping his friends along the way. For a full recap of Jason's ride, click here.

Aaron gets ready to head back out after grabbing some calories and refreshment at one of the aid stations.

Here at a later rest stop, Aaron and the guys from Hudson are still happy though the ride is starting to take a toll.
