April 26-27

While it would be hard to top the weekend prior, this weekend was as another good one for Dig It athletes. Andrea ran well at the Crazy Legs 5 miler in Madison and some of the Minnesota crew showed their toughness in the snow, yes snow, at the Get in Gear 10K. Who says triathletes can't run fast? These guys surely can. Way to go Lyle, Clifford and Jill.

At the US National Duathlon Championships, Francois did a great race across the board to finish 3rd in the ever tough 35-39 age group. On a rainy and cool day in Richmond, Virginia, Francois ran smart early, rode well on a tricky and wet course and then ran again with guts to nail down a podium spot. This was a season goal for Francois and he nailed it!

Here Francois runs up the tough hill coming into the transition area.

Weekend of April 19-21

It was a great weekend for Dig It athletes, probably the best weekend ever! At Ironman China, Justin Hurd, a new professional triathlete who Coach Jason has been consulting with, overcame really tough conditions for a great 5th place finish in a strong pro field. Not only did Justin finish strong, impressive it of itself given the temperatures in the upper 90s with humidity to match, he earned a Pro slot to Ironman Hawaii in October.

At the Louisiana Triathlon at New Roads, Trey had a good swim and solid ride, and then backed it up with a good run to finish 2nd in his age group, the ultra competetive 30-34 males. Nice job Trey!

On Sunday, RuthAnn won her age group at the Los Ranchos de Albuquerque half marathon on a day she was holding back a bit for an upcoming race. Who konws what she'll do at full strength, nice run RuthAnn.

I included Monday, April 21 as part of the weekend because it was where Faith spent her day. Indeed there aren't many places as festive as Patriot's Day in Boston, Monday or no monday. On Monday April 21, Faith finished her first Boston Marathon! Awesome job Faith.

January 13, 20 and 27
